Anna Riggs
University of Santa Clara of 2023, Neuroscience
Hi there! My name is Anna Riggs, I recently graduated magna cum laude from Santa Clara University with a B.A. in neuroscience and a double minor in women’s and gender studies and biology. My specialized interests include pairing neurotechnology with personalized patient care catering to underserved and marginalized communities, as well as psychedelic and novel mental health therapeutics. I currently work as the Project and Events Manager for BrainMind, a multidisciplinary community seeding and accelerating company creation in neuroscience to further human potential. Through this position I have helped oversee and organize our robust internship program (BrainMind ASPT), planned and executed various successful salons and events for our members, headed numerous market research projects, and acted as a liaison for members of our community. At Santa Clara, I worked in a Cognitive and Computational Neuroscience research lab for three years and received the prestigious research award and distinction of DeNardo Scholar. My project was based on identifying abnormal intrinsic connectivity in distributed social-cognitive brain networks of individuals with comorbid conditions of ASD and ADHD. I had the opportunity to present my research at domestic as well as international conferences, such as INSAR in Stockholm, Sweden, my senior year. Outside of research, during my college career I worked in depth with physical, mental, and spiritual wellness initiatives. I was the wellness chair in my pre-health sorority at Santa Clara, Rho Psi Eta, and through my summer internship at BrainMind I managed a team of fellow undergrads from across the country on market research for a national-level fitness and wellness company. Outside of the lab or conference room you can usually find me backpacking around Big Sur or road-tripping to a National Park. I like to consider myself an adventurous, passionate, and driven individual who loves to learn and grow. I am excited for the opportunity to apply my various research and project management skills to all my future endeavors.
