Manciana Cardichon
Harvard College Class of 2023, Computer Science
Manciana is a student in the class of 2023 at Harvard pursuing a degree in computer science. On campus, she serves as the Social Events Chair for the Harvard Society of Black Scientists and Engineers and a writer for the Harvard Technology Review. She immigrated to the United States from Haiti when she was seven and has lived in the Greater Boston Area since. On the ASPT, she’s strengthened her ability to plan, organize, lead, and collaborate on business development initiatives, all strategies that will leave her well equipped to tackle the problems facing her community. Before working on the ASPT, Manciana mentored youth in underserved communities and led outreach efforts for startups. She ultimately wants to use her interests in design and problem solving to create tech and spaces in tech that drive social change and elevate and enable others to do the same. In her free time, she enjoys listening to kompa and spending time with family and friends.
Accomplishments of the ASPT:
Contributed to the creation of a Neuroscience database with over 1700 Neuroscience companies
Analyzed trends across specialties and focus in the data to create graphs for BrainMind’s neuroscience report
Collaborated with other ASPT members to populate multiple funding pipelines including the SPARK Philanthropy pipeline as well as the Alzheimer’s Research Pipeline
Developed a MailMerge curated to BrainMind’s needs
Wrote a grant proposal for BrainMind’s Neuroethics initiative
