Advanced Special Projects Team
BrainMind (brainmind.org) is hiring a team of motivated undergraduates to join our national Advanced Special Projects Team sponsored by Entrepreneur of Your Own Life, a 501c3 public charity. Team members will have opportunities to make significant contributions to the growth and development of startups and social enterprises in neurotechnology, as well as create and disperse open access educational materials and events on topics ranging from neuroethics to brain health. Projects are designed to help students build their professional networks, realize their leadership potential as future entrepreneurs in STEM fields and positively impact communities in need.
BrainMind is a vibrant neuroscience ecosystem bringing together the top scientists, entrepreneurs, investors, and philanthropists with the common goal to accelerate impactful innovation within the science of the brain and mind and bring science and innovations to those that need it the most.
Projects include:
Building connections between brilliant neuroscientists and tech entrepreneurs
Writing about the current landscape of neuroscience startups and research topics
Creating open access educational materials surrounding brain health and longevity for the general public
Helping to organize live educational events for the public on brain health and mental health
Helping to convene (and participating in) scientific salons in Boston and Menlo Park for community members
Helping to prepare for BrainMind's national scientific summits
Strategic planning for BrainMind’s Neuroethics Initiative
Contributing to cutting edge knowledge on the neuroscience of meditation and other mental-wellness initiatives
Specific task examples:
Helping to organize free public events on the topic of Ethics and Equity in the Treatment of Neurological Disorders in Boston, New York, and San Francisco (Helping with event registration, Identifying potential speakers/panelists, Helping to administer surveys to event attendees)
Organizing and updating educational resources on mental health and neurological disorders such as PTSD, Intergenerational Trauma, and Neurodegeneration (writing content for publicly available mental health websites, updating documents available for download).
Special Extras include:
A 12-week curriculum focused on preparing you to become a successful entrepreneur or maximize your career
Personal development projects such as outreach to prospective mentors, conscious leadership exercises, career path exploration, and self-authored 5-year life planning
Intimate mentorship and Q and A sessions with leading entrepreneurs, clinicians, and investors in neurotechnology and beyond
Good-natured team competitions with silly prizes

Position logistics:
Compensation available through the federal work study program for qualifying students or through school-funded nonprofit scholarship programming where available.
Full time internship available for the summer
Students will base themselves in Cambridge/Boston or Stanford area for in-person meetings and team will also have daily video conference check-ins.
